David and JP's Thoroughly Modern (fa)Millie

We have decided on a name for our new little boy! Maxwell David Bowik.  This is the first time we have been able to decide on a name before our baby was born.  With both Evan and Sophie, we were caught off guard by how early they came. This time, Max has already passed Evan as he goes into his 35th week. Great for him, good for Angela, and hooray for two dads who are more prepared then ever!

We starting going through names a few weeks ago. We had only a few criteria. (keep it fairly simple, make it flow with “Evan, Sophie, and >>>>”, and make sure Angela, and both of us, all liked it) We always ask for Angela’s input, and try to incorporate  that as well. “Evan” was actually Angela’s suggestion. So we had come up with a list but weren’t thrilled with any of them. One evening JP said “Max” and I loved it immediately.  We thought about possible full names and decided on Maxwell pretty easily, and a middle name of David worked for both of us. Angela put her stamp of approval on it the next day. We let it sit for a few more days, and then confirmed with each other that we were all settled on it.
